Roberto Cerletti was born in 1988 in Basel, Switzerland.
From the first moment of his life he felt in love with
music. Growing up with strong Italian roots from his
Neapolitan mother and the passion for music inherited from
his father, an outstanding bass- and stick player, Roberto
joins only five years old a course for African drums and
chant with the renowned percussionist Joseph Mataré.
With eight years he starts to play the cello and continues
the studies for three years.
In 1999 at the age of eleven he still feels this strong
rhythm pulsing inside and he knows he’s got to beat that
drum.
His first teacher is Roland Fischer, one of the greatest and
most motivating teacher on earth. After four years of
intense study and a strong musical basis he changes to the
Jazz school of Basel. There he studies drums with Benedikt
Bürgin and Theory with Stephan Sieber. |
